Robert Borne was born in Muskoka to a family involved in construction. His father is an excellent stone mason who taught Rob this craft at an early age.

More attuned to fine carpentry, Rob secured a job with a well respected local builder at the age of 17 with the intention of learning his craft from an expert. Ever the driven personality, his eyes and ears never stopped learning throughout the 6 years he spent in Bev Kirbyson’s employ.
In 1986 he decided to strike out on his own and became the General Contractor for his first building which was a boathouse on Keewaydin Island, Lake Muskoka.
Over the years he has proven his ability to remain at the top of his profession. He always has major projects to fill the time of two crews, despite not advertising. Word of mouth from happy clients is the advertising that he has used.
This website is for your use and convenience, as Rob wants to be as helpful as possible to past, present, and future clients.
Rob lives on Brown Road between Bracebridge and Port Carling in a home he built for his family. His passion is fishing, which often provides wonderful meals for his clients during the time he is working with them. At times, Rob can even be convinced to share the secret recipes he uses to prepare fish feasts for his own family and friends. It is interesting to see him take off his tool belt and move into the kitchen, where he can cook like a pro.

Another leisure hobby Rob loves is crafting fine carpentry. He spends spare time in his shop making furniture and built-ins for his home or for the homes of friends and clients. He often personally builds the massive front doors for the cottages he constructs, to the delight of his clients. The combination of his work and his time with his family leaves him little time for his classic car, which usually has to sit resting in his garage.
